I enjoyed the campaign immensely: it was hard work but I had tremendous support from a large number of people including my family, friends, members of the Labour Party and many people I had never met before. I spent hours and hours over almost eight months out and about talking to people and most of those conversations were very positive.
I have worked with some brilliant people. My campaign was based on the efforts of hundreds of volunteers who gave freely of their leisure time to help me communicate with the voters – delivering leaflets and talking to voters in person and on the phone. Without such individuals, there is no democracy. Thank you, every one of you.

We are so so disappointed Tal. You were by far the best candidate and hope you carry on with roles in public life.
Kind regards
Pat and Peter
Unlucky Tal. You certainly raised the profile of the election through a tireless visibility drive, and probably deserved to win because of that.
Unfortunately it looks like a few years of Jeremy Kyle and Cash in the Attic await.
Better luck in 4 years time.
Thanks
I think I’ll try and steer clear of daytime TV though!
